Cotton Futures Slide on Friday
Cotton futures are experiencing weakness at the end of the week, with contracts down across the front months. The US dollar index has gained $0.533, while crude oil is up 4 cents per barrel.
The export commitment level for 2026/27 cotton is set at 4.332 million RB, a 27% increase from last year and representing 38% of USDA's export projection.
However, this falls short of the 5-year average pace. The Seam reported sales of 2,212 bales on Thursday at an average price of 87.19 cents/lb.
