Cotton Futures Surge on Wednesday Amid Stable Dollar and Higher Oil
Cotton futures experienced a significant gain on Wednesday, with prices rising across most contracts. The US dollar index remained steady throughout the day, while crude oil saw a notable increase of $3.64 per barrel. The weekly Crop Progress data revealed that condition ratings decreased by 5 percentage points to 34% good/excellent.
The Brugler500 index dropped another 6 points to 298, with Texas ratings declining by 8 points to 252 on the same index. The Seam reported sales of 632 bales at an average price of 76.26 cents/lb in Tuesday's sale. Meanwhile, the Cotlook A index remained unchanged at 96.00.
Cotton futures prices increased across most contracts, with Oct 26 Cotton closing at 83.73 (up 109 points), Dec 26 Cotton closing at 87.28 (up 96 points), and Mar 27 Cotton closing at 89.65 (up 94 points).
