Cotton Prices Tumble Amid Weaker Market Conditions
Cotton futures are currently trading lower by 119 points on Friday morning, despite gaining strength from the outside markets on Thursday. The US dollar index rose 255 points and crude oil increased $7.88 per barrel.
The USDA's Export Sales data was delayed due to the Monday holiday and will be released on Friday. The Cotlook A index, which measures cotton prices, was up 10 points on September 9 at 96.10.
Certified stocks of cotton were up 3,999 bales on September 9, with a total level of 50,415 bales. The Adjusted World Price also decreased by 441 points to 69.51 cents per pound on Thursday afternoon.
