CPC Keeps Natural Gas Prices Steady for Most Users Amid Global Price Surge
CPC Corp., Taiwan, has decided to keep natural gas prices unchanged for domestic and industrial users in September. However, it will raise prices by 5.83% for companies that generate electricity due to increased liquefied natural gas (LNG) costs.
The company cited uncertainty over LNG supply amid stalled negotiations between the US and Iran as well as a push by European countries to build up LNG inventories before winter.
CPC has absorbed NT$140 billion in losses on sales to the industrial sector since 2021, with this move expected to ease cost pressures on businesses.
