CPC Oil Tankers Attacked in Black Sea Amid Russia-Ukraine Conflict
The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) has reported another attack on its oil tankers at its Black Sea terminal. On Thursday, a crude oil tanker called the NISSOS SIFNOS was targeted while loading oil at the CPC's single point mooring in Novorossiysk.
A fire broke out on the cargo deck as a result of the drone attack, but it was quickly extinguished by the tanker's crew and three CPC support vessels. The tanker remained buoyant, with no oil spill occurring.
Another vessel, the MARATHI, was attacked six nautical miles from the CPC's marine terminal while en route to receive oil. This incident comes as Russia and Ukraine exchange accusations of overnight airstrikes that have killed at least eight people and injured dozens.
