CPC Prepares to Pass on Lower Fuel Costs to Consumers
The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) is planning to pass on lower global crude oil prices to consumers during its next scheduled fuel price revision. The revision is set to take place after tomorrow, and officials have indicated that any favorable changes in global energy markets will be reflected in domestic fuel prices.
International oil markets have experienced fluctuations over the past several weeks, with prices generally moving lower after a period of volatility. As a result, CPC intends to transfer these cost savings to consumers, provided the prevailing market conditions remain favorable at the time of the price review.
The current Brent crude oil price is USD 86.66 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil is trading at USD 81.73 per barrel. These prices represent a moderation compared to recent highs, supported by changing supply-demand dynamics and easing geopolitical concerns in some regions.
