CRK Stock Bounces Back on Earnings Despite Margin Strains
Comstock Resources (CRK) shares experienced a modest rebound of 4.4% to $13.26 following the release of its Q2 earnings, despite the headline numbers not being entirely impressive.
The company came into the quarter under pressure, with double-digit declines in share price over the past month and quarter.
Comstock Resources reported a net income of $8.8 million, down from $124.8 million in Q2 2025, and earnings per share (EPS) of $0.03, significantly lower than the $0.43 reported last year.
The main concern for investors is the margin pressure on Comstock Resources' natural gas-heavy Haynesville portfolio, which is exacerbated by rising Western development costs.
