Eni and TotalEnergies have given the green light to develop the Cronos gas field off Cyprus, with first production expected in 2028. The two energy giants will target liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports from the field.

The approval comes after years of exploration and development work on the Cronos field, which is located offshore Cyprus. Eni and TotalEnergies have been working together to bring this project to fruition.
