Crude oil futures prices declined sharply on Monday due to weak global cues. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil futures for September delivery slipped by Rs 167, or 0.2 per cent, to Rs 8,192 per barrel in a business turnover of 8,897 lots.

The decline comes after a day of mixed trends globally, where prices were influenced by various factors including geopolitical tensions and economic indicators. Despite the fall, crude oil prices remain high compared to last year's figures.
