Crude Oil, Geopolitics to Dictate Market Direction This Week
Market analysts expect crude oil prices and geopolitical tensions in West Asia to drive market direction this week. The Strait of Hormuz, foreign investor activity, and quarterly earnings will also be key monitorables for the Indian stock market.
Ajit Mishra, SVP at Religare Broking, noted that domestically, investors will closely watch July CPI inflation print, WPI inflation, and the latest foreign exchange reserves data for insights into inflation trends and external sector stability. The Q1 FY27 earnings season will continue to gain momentum with companies such as HAL, Bharat Forge, Grasim Industries, and Tata Motors set to announce their quarterly results.
Globally, market participants will monitor developments surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, movements in crude oil prices, and broader geopolitical negotiations involving Iran. The July US inflation report is also a key global event this week, Mishra added.
