Crude Oil Price Drop Fuels Indian Stock Market Rally
Stock markets in India opened higher on Wednesday, mirroring the trend in global equities. A decline in crude oil prices contributed to this positive sentiment.
The Sensex rose by 285 points to 77,944.02, while the Nifty gained 23.25 points at 24,356.10.
Among the major gainers were ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, and Kotak Mahindra Bank. However, Infosys, Bharti Airtel, Larsen & Toubro, and Bharat Electronics were among the laggards.
The fall in oil prices has been a significant positive factor for domestic markets, according to Ponmudi R, CEO of Enrich Money. Brent crude traded 2.66% lower at USD 86.22 per barrel, while WTI fell more than 6% over the past two sessions.
