Crude Oil Prices Surge as Hormuz Standoff Continues
Crude oil futures rose on Wednesday as tensions between the US and Iran continued over the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. The Strait, a vital link for global crude oil shipping, remains closed due to the ongoing standoff.
At 10:03 am on Wednesday, October Brent oil futures were trading at $91.65, up by 0.69%, and October WTI (West Texas Intermediate) crude oil futures were at $84.72, up by 0.79%.
US President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that 'there are no talks or conversations going on, or scheduled, with the Islamic Republic of Iran.' He added that the Naval Blockade remains in full force and effect, and the Hormuz Strait is open and operating.
