Crude Oil Tanker Catches Fire on Mumbai-Pune Expressway
A crude oil tanker caught fire on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway after its braking system failed, causing it to lose control and overturn. The incident occurred near Khalapur, with the driver reportedly experiencing a mechanical problem while traveling from Pune towards Mumbai.
The vehicle's cabin was briefly trapped in the overturned position, but the driver was rescued safely without sustaining serious injuries, according to authorities.
Emergency personnel from the Khopoli Municipal Fire Brigade rushed to the scene with fire tenders and successfully extinguished the flames, preventing the fire from spreading further along the busy expressway.
