Czech Consumers to Save on Electricity and Gas Bills in 2021

Czech households are set to save on their electricity and gas bills in 2021 due to a drop in regulated prices. The country's Energy Regulatory Office announced that the price of electricity for households will decrease by approximately 1.7% next year, while the regulated component of natural gas prices will fall by 1.6%. This means consumers can expect to save hundreds or even thousands of crowns per year.

The change in regulated prices will vary depending on the region and supplier chosen by households. For instance, Pražská energetika expects a drop of 0.46% for households next year, while ČEZ plans to reduce its price by 2.6%. E.ON, however, will increase its distribution price by 0.28%.

Prague inhabitants who rely on gas for cooking and heating have less reason to be happy as Pražská plynárenská has announced an increase of the regulated price by 4.7% due to modernization of the city's pipeline network.
