Daewoo E&C has been chosen as the preferred bidder for the engineering, procurement, supply, construction and commissioning (EPSCC) of the Papua Central Gas Processing Facility (CPF) and well pads in Papua New Guinea.

The company was selected by TotalEnergies, the lead operator of the Papua New Guinea LNG project, after being named winning bidder for the first and second phases of front-end engineering design (FEED) four years ago.

The Papua LNG project extracts natural gas from the Elk-Antelope gas fields to produce around 6 million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) annually. Daewoo E&C will independently carry out the entire EPSCC process for the CPF and auxiliary facilities, which process and refine the gas produced at the fields before supplying it to a liquefaction plant near Port Moresby.

This achievement is attributed to Daewoo E&C's combination of project understanding and unique technology, according to a company official. The selection reaffirms the company's construction capabilities across the entire LNG value chain.
