Dakota Gold's Richmond Hill Project Sees Strong Economics Amid Growing Development
Dakota Gold's Richmond Hill Gold Project in South Dakota is gaining traction as the company advances its development plan. The project has strong economics, according to Shawn Campbell, Chief Financial Officer, with a projected 17-year mine life from measured and indicated resources.
At current gold prices above $4,000 an ounce, the project's net present value rises to more than $4 billion, up from $1.6 billion at a $2,350 gold assumption. Dakota Gold has enough treasury funds, around $99 million, to support the project through its shovel-ready stage without near-term dilutive financing.
The company is targeting production in 2029 after completing several key milestones, including a pre-feasibility study in 2024 and a feasibility study in 2025. Recent metallurgical work has improved technical risk, with average heap-leach recoveries of 76% and half-inch crush tests averaging 80%. The project's infrastructure access and private-land permitting also reduce development costs.
