Dana Gas Begins Deliveries of Natural Gas to Kirkuk Power Stations

Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum have begun supplying natural gas from the Khor Mor field to power stations in Kirkuk, Iraq. This move marks a significant step towards strengthening the country's electricity supply.

The companies announced that deliveries are being made under an agreement signed with Iraq's Ministry of Electricity in December 2025. The initial one-year deal provides 100 million standard cubic feet of natural gas per day from the Khor Mor gas processing facility to the Taza gas-fired power plant in Kirkuk.

The expansion of the Khor Mor facility, which was completed in October 2025, increased its processing capacity by 50% and raised production to 750 million standard cubic feet per day. This additional capacity has enabled Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum to expand sales and serve new domestic markets through the Kurdistan Region's gas pipeline network.

Majid Jafar, CEO of Crescent Petroleum and Managing Director of Dana Gas, described the first delivery to Iraq's Ministry of Electricity as a major milestone in developing the Kurdistan Region's natural gas sector.
