Dangote Refinery Raises Petrol Price by 13% Amid Global Crude Hike

Dangote Petroleum Refinery increased the wholesale price of petrol by ₦140 per litre on July 23, 2026. The new ex-depot rate is ₦1,215 per litre, a 13.02% hike from the previous rate of ₦1,075 per litre.

The price increase follows a one-week pause during which the facility temporarily changed to dollar-denominated sales due to operational challenges under the federal government's naira-for-crude framework.

The primary cause for the refinery price increase is the rapid rise in international crude oil prices, which directly elevates the cost of producing refined petroleum products.
