The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) reported that the Dangote Petroleum Refinery rejected about 15.5 million barrels of crude oil offered to it by producers in the second quarter of this year.

This was stated in the commission's Q2 2026 report on the enforcement of the Domestic Crude Supply Obligation.

The refinery reportedly accepted 52.6 million barrels, which represents 78% of the volume offered to it by producers during the three-month period.

According to the NUPRC, the refinery required 63 million barrels in Q2, but producers offered a higher volume of 68.1 million barrels, representing 98% of all offered volumes.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has disputed this claim, asking for statistics from the NUPRC to support their assertion.
