Data Centers Fuel Record Natural Gas Demand, TC Energy Says

Data centers and electrification across North America are driving an unprecedented surge in natural gas demand, according to TC Energy executives. The company's midstream giant is seeing increased power sector demand, with data centers sustaining pipeline expansion. Mexico's generation capacity also plays a key role in lifting pipeline use.

The growth in demand is driven by several factors, including the increasing need for data storage and processing, as well as the transition to renewable energy sources. TC Energy executives emphasized that despite opposition to new data center developments, they are not slowing down the buildout of natural gas pipelines.
