DDG Price Steady at $155 Per Short Ton Amid Lower Corn and Soybean Meal Prices

The average price for domestic distillers dried grains (DDG) from 33 locations remained steady at $155 per short ton as of August 6, according to DTN's weekly spot price. This price has not changed compared to the previous week. In contrast, cash corn prices were lower by 5 cents per bushel, and soybean meal prices dropped by $6.40 per short ton.

The value of DDG relative to corn was 0.939%, while its value relative to soybean meal was 48.96%. The cost per unit of protein for DDG was $5.74 compared to the cost per unit of protein for soybean meal at $6.67.

U.S. Grains and Bioproducts Council's weekly distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) export market prices report showed a decline in prices for September. The CIF NOLA barge price dropped by $5 to $225 metric ton, while the FOB vessel Gulf price fell by $1 to $243 metric ton.

According to the Energy Information Administration, ethanol production in the United States averaged 1.107 million barrels per day (bpd) in the week ended July 31. This is a decrease of 26,000 bpd from the previous week and an increase of 14,000 bpd, or 1.3%, compared to the same week last year.
