DDG Prices Rise Amid Tight Supplies, Higher Corn Prices
The average spot price for domestic distillers dried grains (DDG) in the US rose to $179 per short ton as of September 3, up $5 from the previous week's average. This increase is attributed to tight supplies due to slowed production. The cash corn price also saw a rise compared to the previous week.
According to DTN, the value of DDG relative to corn for the week ended September 3 was 0.927%, while its value relative to soybean meal stood at 50.35%. Additionally, the cost per unit of protein for DDG was $6.63 compared to $7.48 for soybean meal.
U.S. Grains and Bioproducts Council's weekly distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) export market prices report showed higher September prices as of September 3, with CIF NOLA barge price up by $23 at $269 metric ton, FOB vessel Gulf price up by $27 at $275 mt, and rail delivered PNW up by $22 at $308.
