Devon Energy Finalizes $4 Billion Solitude Pipeline Project
Devon Energy Corporation has reached a Final Investment Decision (FID) on the Solitude Pipeline System, a joint venture that will connect the Permian Basin to Katy, TX. The system consists of two 48-inch natural gas pipelines with a planned capacity of approximately 2.25 Bcf per day, entering service in phases from 2029 to 2030.
The Solitude Pipeline System is part of Devon's integrated business model, which aims to capture value across the entire value chain, from the wellhead to the demand center. The company holds a 25% equity interest in the joint venture alongside WhiteWater (50%), MPLX (10%), Diamondback Energy (7.5%), and Western Midstream Partners (7.5%).
The Solitude pipeline represents a significant step forward for Devon, moving the majority of its Delaware gas out of the Waha hub and into markets tied to expanding LNG export and power generation demand. The company has already initiated the process of securing international LNG-linked pricing agreements.
