Diamondback Energy Surpasses One Million BOE Per Day
Diamondback Energy has achieved a major milestone in its production growth, surpassing one million barrels of oil equivalent per day. In just over a decade, the company has risen from producing only 3,000 BOE per day in 2012 to becoming one of the top producers in the industry.
According to CEO Kaes Van't Hof, Diamondback's success is attributed to its early days and the decisions made by the company's founders. He expressed gratitude to them for taking a chance on building the company, which ultimately led to its current status as an independent oil and gas producer.
The company has been testing and developing new technologies, including chemical enhanced oil recovery (EOR) programs, which have shown promising results. The early results of these programs have the potential to increase oil recovery factors across the Permian Basin, one of the most significant frontiers in the industry today.
Van't Hof noted that improving oil recovery factors represents one of the highest-return uses of capital available, with even a modest increase having the potential to rival the value created by drilling new wells.
