Diesel Prices Skyrocket to Record High Amid Ukraine and Iran Wars
U.S. diesel prices have hit an all-time high of $6 per gallon, fueled by supply disruptions from the Ukraine and Iran wars.
The price surge has been particularly harsh for truckers and farmers, who are paying about 63% more to fill up their vehicles than they did at this time last year.
California is currently seeing the highest prices in the country, with an average of $7.9827 per gallon, as fuel costs rise due to a sharp escalation in fighting between the U.S. and Iran.
The increase in diesel prices has been attributed to rising crude oil prices, which have surged 20% in September alone, topping $100 per barrel for the first time since May.
