DNO Restores Production at Tawke Oil Field Amid Regional Tensions
Norwegian energy company DNO has resumed production at its Tawke oil field in the Kurdistan Region after months of disruption due to regional tensions.
The company suspended operations at the end of February as a precaution following US and Israeli strikes on Iran, but production has since been restored at both the Tawke and Peshkabir fields.
DNO's immediate priority is to rebuild production in the Kurdistan Region while export routes remain unavailable, with local-market sales currently fetching approximately $35 to $39 per barrel.
The company reported strong financial results for the second quarter, despite the decline in its Kurdistan production, citing increased production in the North Sea and higher global oil prices as key factors.
