DOE Clears Argent LNG Exports to FTA Nations
Argent LNG has cleared an early hurdle in its development process after receiving authorization from the US Department of Energy (DOE) to export up to 25 million tons per year of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to free trade agreement (FTA) countries.
The DOE's approval allows Argent LNG to proceed with shipping LNG to FTA nations, but broader international exports remain pending.
While this milestone is a significant step forward for the project, it is still subject to further review and approval from other regulatory bodies, including the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
