Gold and silver futures declined on Friday as the U.S. dollar steadied from its biggest one-day drop in over a month, outweighing support from softer inflation data released the previous session.

The dollar held firm after dropping 2.4% on Thursday, which was its largest single-day decline since June 14th.

Despite the post-PCE (Personal Consumption Expenditures) index inflation data showing a slower pace of price increases, the firmer dollar dominated gold and silver prices.
