Dollar Strengthens, Copper Prices Slide to Four-Day Low
Copper prices have fallen for four consecutive sessions, hitting around $6.55 per pound on Monday.
The decline is attributed to a strengthening dollar, which makes greenback-priced commodities like copper more expensive for buyers using other currencies, weighing on near-term demand.
Additionally, signs of easing supply squeezes have emerged as the premium for spot copper over three-month futures narrowed and LME inventories improved recently due to increased metal deliveries.
However, traders are diverting copper shipments towards the US ahead of potential new import tariffs, tightening supplies in global markets.
