Dollar Weakness Boosts Gold and Silver Prices
International gold and silver prices rose on Thursday due to a weaker U.S. dollar index.
On the New York Mercantile Exchange, gold futures for December delivery gained 0.23 percent to settle at $4,664 per ounce, while silver futures for September delivery jumped 2.07 percent to close at $69.431 per ounce.
The European stock markets ended mixed on Thursday, with the United Kingdom's FTSE 100 index dropping 0.79 percent and France's CAC 40 index falling 1.68 percent. Germany's DAX index gained 0.31 percent to end at 26,367.24 points.
