Dollar Weakness Lifts Gold Prices Amid Inflation Data Anticipation
Gold prices saw a slight increase on Tuesday as the US dollar weakened in value. This development came amidst market anticipation of US inflation data, which could have an impact on expectations regarding the Federal Reserve's monetary policy.
The price of spot gold rose by 0.3% to $4,418.79 per ounce, while US gold futures for December delivery fell by 0.3% to $4,464.80. The dollar index also declined by 0.3%, making gold and other dollar-denominated precious metals less expensive for holders of other currencies.
In related precious metal trading, spot silver rose by 0.3% to $66.34 per ounce, platinum gained 0.6% to $1,836.97, and palladium climbed 0.9% to $1,401.47.
