Dollar-Won Exchange Rate Falls to 1,460 Won Amid US-Iran Ceasefire

The dollar-won exchange rate fell to the early 1,460 won range after the US and Iran halted mutual airstrikes. This decline reflects a combination of supply-demand and policy factors, including SK Hynix's large-scale ADR currency conversion inflows.

Easing foreign selling in South Korea's stock market and the Bank of Korea's benchmark rate hike also contributed to the won's strengthening.

However, experts caution that the exchange rate could rebound to the 1,500 won level if Middle East tensions re-escalate, particularly with Brent crude surpassing $100 per barrel.
