Dollar's Weakness Supports Gold as Mideast Tensions Escalate
Gold prices have firmed up due to a softer US dollar and ongoing tensions in the Middle East, particularly between the US and Iran.
The dollar's muted performance allowed gold to rise, with spot gold increasing by 0.4% to $4,372.19 per ounce at 0230 GMT on Wednesday.
However, U.S. gold futures lost 0.5% to $4,416.00 during the same period.
The renewed attacks between the US and Iran have kept investors focused on the interest-rate outlook, with upcoming inflation data adding to the uncertainty.
