Domestic Metals Corp. Poised to Tap Rising Copper Demand with Smart Creek Project

Domestic Metals Corp., a junior mining company listed on TSX-V and OTCQB, is one to watch in the copper market. The company's Smart Creek project in Montana holds an option to earn a 60% interest from Rio Tinto, with historical production of over 20 billion pounds of copper.

The copper price has reached near-month futures levels of $6.86/lb, within 2.5% of its all-time high. Explosive demand from EVs, renewables, grid expansion, and AI data centers is outpacing supply, leading to multi-year deficits that can only be closed by higher prices.

Rio Tinto's continued involvement in the project, including tech support and a 20% clawback option, de-risks the exploration thesis. The company has deployed $2M of its $5M earn-in obligation over five years, with three years remaining.
