Doosan Enerbility Lands $480M LNG Plant Deal in South Korea
Doosan Enerbility has secured a major contract to build an LNG combined-cycle plant in South Korea. The company, along with its partners, will replace two aging coal-fired units at the Hadong power plant with a new liquefied natural gas facility of equal capacity.
The deal is worth 665.8 billion won ($480 million) and was signed with Korea Southern Power. This marks a significant step in the company's efforts to reduce its reliance on coal, as part of the government's phase-out policy.
Korea Southern Power has bundled several contracts into one order to improve project management efficiency and minimize risks of delays.
