Summit Midstream has sanctioned an expansion of its Double E Pipeline in the Permian Basin's Delaware sub-basin, increasing capacity to move natural gas from the region toward the Waha Hub. The roughly 900 MMcf/d expansion was made possible after securing 550 MMcf/d of new long-term commitments for gas transport.

The project targets a 4Q2028 startup and still has 450 MMcf/d available, which may be used to meet growing demand from data centers in the area. The added capacity will further reduce transportation constraints on Permian Basin producers, who have been seeking more efficient ways to get their gas to market.

The Double E Pipeline is a major takeaway system for the Permian Basin, and this expansion will help to alleviate bottlenecks in the region. By increasing its capacity, Summit Midstream is positioning itself as a key player in the growing demand for natural gas transportation services.
