Dow Tumbles 628 Points as Crude Oil Prices Soar
U.S. stocks declined on Tuesday after trading resumed following the Labor Day weekend.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average led the decline, dropping by 628.18 points or 1.2 percent to 52,786.07.
The S&P 500 and Nasdaq also fell, with declines of 45.08 points or 0.6 percent to 7,673.52 and 85.58 points or 0.3 percent to 26,421.41 respectively.
The weakness in the market was largely attributed to a significant increase in crude oil prices due to ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
