Drone Attack Hobbles Russia's Sheskharis Oil Terminal Amid Ongoing Attacks
Russia's Sheskharis oil terminal has suspended crude exports after a drone attack, creating further difficulties for Russia's energy infrastructure.
The terminal, located at the port of Novorossiysk, is one of Russia's key Black Sea facilities for seaborne oil exports. Around 700,000 barrels of crude pass through the terminal each day.
The suspension was caused by a drone attack that forced a tanker to leave the port without loading crude oil. The port's storage tanks had reached their maximum capacity, making it impossible to continue operations.
Russia exports Urals and Siberian Light crude grades, as well as the Kazakh KEBCO blend, through the port of Novorossiysk. The shutdown of the Sheskharis terminal may affect shipping and loading schedules for these crude grades.
