Saudi Arabia has shut down its key oil pipeline after it was targeted by drones launched from Iraq. The East-West pipeline, which spans over 1,200km (745 miles), was closed as a precaution following the attack.

The incident has added to the pressure on the region's energy and shipping routes, which have been impacted by ongoing conflicts in Yemen and Iran. According to reports, the drone attack caused injuries and damage, although the extent of the damage is still being assessed.

Saudi Arabia has previously accused Iran-backed militias in Iraq of targeting its oil facilities. The Saudi foreign ministry stated that it would support the Iraqi government's efforts to prevent attacks launched from Iraq against neighboring countries.
