Drone Attacks Keep Saudi Oil Pipeline Offline
Saudi Arabia's East-West Pipeline, a crucial route for crude oil transportation, may remain offline for several weeks due to damage caused by drone attacks. According to regional officials, repairs are expected to take three to five weeks and will require work on a major pumping facility.
The pipeline, which can carry up to 7 million barrels of oil per day, has been out of service since September 10 when multiple drones struck the system in Riyadh and Madinah regions. The attacks injured several people and caused damage to oil infrastructure, prompting authorities to shut down the pipeline as a precaution.
Brent crude prices extended their daily gains to 4% and reached an intraday high of $109.7 per barrel following the report. US West Texas Intermediate crude also climbed to $104.9 before giving up part of its advance.
