Drone Strike Hits US-Owned LNG Facility in Egypt

A U.S.-owned liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage facility at Egypt's Mediterranean port of Damietta was struck by a drone, according to Reuters. The incident occurred on July 28, with reports citing British maritime security firm Ambrey.

The Energos Winter, a floating storage tanker, suffered a fire that then spread to another vessel, the GasLog Salem.

Ambrey reported that crew members were evacuated and the fire has been brought under control. No group or faction has yet claimed responsibility for the incident.
