Drone Strikes U.S.-Owned Vessel at Egyptian Gas Port

A drone attack on July 29 caused fires aboard two vessels at the key gas port of Damietta in Egypt, according to the Egyptian government.

The preliminary investigation found that an unknown drone struck two vessels, including a U.S.-owned LNG vessel called Energos Winter. The fire spread to another vessel.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but authorities are taking steps to ensure national security.
