DTN Spot Price for DDG Hits $179/ton Amid Tight Supplies
The average DTN spot price for domestic distillers dried grains (DDG) from 33 locations reporting for the week ended Sept. 3 was $179 per short ton on average, up $5 versus one week ago.
According to DTN's data collection, supplies remain tight as production slowed last week, leading to higher prices for DDG. The cash corn price also increased compared to the previous week, with the DTN National Average Corn Index rising 11 cents per bushel.
The value of DDG relative to corn for the week ended Sept. 3 was 0.927%, while its value relative to soybean meal was 50.35%. The cost per unit of protein for DDG was $6.63 compared to $7.48 for soybean meal.
