DTN's proprietary yield models predict a lower corn and soybean harvest in the US this season. According to the models, which update every two weeks without incorporating weather forecasts, the national average corn yield is estimated at 178.5 bushels per acre (bpa), while soybean yields are expected to be 52.1 bpa.

Last month, USDA projected a higher national average corn yield of 183.0 bpa and an average soybean yield of 53.0 bpa in its World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) report.

DTN's team combines data-driven forecasts with boots-on-the-ground insight from farmers, agronomists, and experts to paint a picture of corn and soybean yield potential as the crops push toward the season's finish line.
