Dubai Gold Jewellery Sales to Spark in Festive Season
Gold jewellery retailers in Dubai are optimistic about increased demand in the second half of 2026, driven by festive and wedding seasons. The upcoming celebrations of Navratri, Diwali, Christmas, and New Year, combined with a rise in winter tourist arrivals, are expected to boost gifting, festive shopping, and wedding-related purchases across the UAE.
According to industry leaders, these factors will support jewellery demand during this period. Shamlal Ahamed, managing director for international operations at Malabar Gold and Diamonds, stated that 'The festive and wedding season traditionally drives jewellery purchases...'
Gold prices have stabilized somewhat, closing at $4,342 per ounce in the recent past. In Dubai, 24K and 22K gold prices closed at Dh523.25 and Dh484.5 per gram, respectively.
Renewed interest in gold jewellery is evident, with retailers expecting a strong second half of the year. John Paul Alukkas, CEO of Joyalukkas Jewellery, mentioned that 'We're already seeing early signs of renewed interest as customers begin planning for upcoming celebrations.'
