Dubai Gold Prices Dip as Markets Await US Jobs Report
Dubai gold prices saw a slight dip on Friday from Thursday's closing levels, offering shoppers a cheaper entry point. The 24K rate in Dubai stood at Dh539.25 per gram, down from Dh542 previously.
International gold prices, however, were steady after a sharp rally, and markets awaited key US jobs data for clues on the Federal Reserve's next move. A weak US jobs report could reduce pressure on the Fed to raise interest rates, potentially supporting gold.
Ross Maxwell, global strategy operations lead at VT Markets, said gold remains sensitive to expectations around US interest rates, the dollar, and geopolitical uncertainty. He noted that central-bank demand is also continuing to support gold prices.
