Dubai Gold Prices Soar to Highest Level in Three Months
Dubai's gold prices have risen again, reaching their highest level in over three months. Spot gold has climbed to $4,641.27 an ounce, a gain of 0.8% from yesterday. The increase is largely attributed to the weaker US dollar, which makes gold cheaper for buyers holding other currencies.
Tim Waterer, chief market analyst at KCM Trade, told Reuters that gold was 'looking sprightly' and taking its cues primarily from the softer dollar. Investors are assessing what higher bond yields may signal about underlying economic strains and policy uncertainty.
The next major test for bullion could come later this week when investors receive the July Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index and hear from Fed Chair Kevin Warsh at the Jackson Hole symposium. Traders will be watching closely for any change in the Fed's policy tone, which could support further gains in gold.
In Dubai, 24-carat gold has risen to Dh558.25 per gram, while 22-carat gold has increased to Dh516.75 from yesterday's closing rates. For consumers, this means a higher metal value for buying gold, before any making charges or other retailer costs are added.
