Dubai Gold Prices Surge to New Highs Amid Ongoing Market Volatility
Gold prices in Dubai have surged again, pushing the 24-karat rate to Dh534.50 per gram and 22-karat gold back to Dh495. This comes after a month of significant swings in local jewellery prices.
The 24K rate has increased by Dh3.75 from Monday's price of Dh530.75, while 22K gained Dh3.50 from Dh491.50.
According to Chris Weston, Head of Research at Pepperstone, gold remains locked in a battle between buyers and sellers, with neither party showing enough conviction for a sustained directional move.
Several factors contribute to the modestly tilted higher balance of risk, including Chinese demand and upcoming US inflation data. The People's Bank of China has added around 630,000 ounces of gold to its reserves in its latest reported purchase, extending its accumulation programme to a 22nd consecutive month.
