Dubai gold rates have plummeted on Saturday, following a sharp decline in global bullion prices. The Dubai Jewellery Group's suggested retail jewellery prices show that 24K gold is trading at Dh536.75 per gram, while 22K stands at Dh497.00 and 18K at Dh408.50. This marks a significant drop from Friday's prices, with 24K falling Dh17.75, 22K dropping Dh16.50, and 18K declining Dh13.50 in a single day.

The decline is attributed to the strengthening of the US dollar and higher interest rates, which make gold less attractive as an investment option. Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh's statement that the US central bank still has work to do to bring inflation towards its 2 percent target has contributed to the selloff in international bullion markets.

Silver also followed gold lower, falling 3.5 percent to $66.81 an ounce, while platinum declined 0.6 percent and palladium gained 5.3 percent. The geopolitical situation in the Middle East remains a concern for precious metals investors, with tensions between the US and Iran persisting.
