Dublin Gas Prices Hit Record High Ahead of Labor Day

Dublin residents are bracing for record-breaking Labor Day gas prices, which could reach as high as $4.03 per gallon, according to GasBuddy's predictions.

This would be a significant increase from last year's price of $3.16 per gallon and the highest holiday pump price on record, surpassing the previous record of $3.83 per gallon in 2012.

The current prices are being driven by global events such as the war in Iran, which has disrupted oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, and Ukrainian drone strikes that have knocked out millions of barrels of processing capacity offline.

GasBuddy's Patrick De Haan notes that these disruptions 'have disconnected crude oil prices from fuel prices, pushing refining margins to record levels,' which could keep fuel prices elevated in the fall and potentially push diesel prices to new highs.
